Nick Oakley
Nick is the Senior Advisor of KPMG'S Golf Advisory practice will discuss golf course performances in the EMA in 2010 -2011 based on the findings of the golf advisory's most recent survey entitled "Still on the road to recovery" Nicks presentation will provide delegates with a clear overview of the current state of the industry within the EMA and detail the steps that have been taken to rectify the declining numbers of golfers and revenues.
Biography
Having worked at some of the worlds most successful golf facilities and with over 15 years experience of the golf industry, Nick joined the golf advisory practice in 2010.
In his previous role as director of golf operations for Aldar Properties PJSC he was responsible for the pre-opening and daily operation of Yas Links - Abu Dhabi, voted into the world's top 100 golf courses in the first year of opening.
Previously to this Nick was employed by Dubai Golf at Emirates Golf Club and the Nad Al Sheba Club, before joining the Dubai based management groups external consultancy division to assist with the development of several projects in the GCC region.
Nick is charged with managing KPMG's Golf Advisory's Practice, reporting to partners Andrea Sartori and Marnix Von Bartheld. His responsibilities range from working closely with private developers and institutional investors on large scale projects, assisting golf's international bodies and associations with various assignments, along with supporting KPMG Golf's thought leadership initiatives and Golf Business Forum.
As a subject matter expert with focus on the golf industry throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Nick's remit has covered a broad aspect of project related task's ranging from:-Market and financial feasibility studies-Project management of the development phase-Conceptualization and business planning-Internal audit and operational reviews-Valuation and transaction related services
